High-Efficiency Motor (Fixed Speed: IE4, Inverter: IE5 Equivalent)
To maximize energy efficiency, the ALE IV series is equipped with high-efficiency motors.
- Fixed-speed models use IE4 motors, delivering ultra-high energy efficiency.
- Inverter models are equipped with IPM motors with ultra-high efficiency, equivalent to the IE5 standard.

High-Efficiency Screw Rotor – Optimized Design
The new-generation rotor profile is designed based on advanced analytical technologies that KOBELCO has developed over many years—since the creation of Japan’s first oil-free screw air compressor in 1956.
Thanks to this improved design, KOBELCO has achieved best-in-class energy efficiency, driven by rotors optimized for high operating performance.
Key enhancements include:
- Optimized inter-stage pressure balance
- Reduced rotor clearances
- Improved shaft sealing structure

Overall Design to Minimize Energy Loss
The internal piping system, high-efficiency motor, and cooling fan are optimized to reduce power consumption.
In addition, the improved gas cooler lowers discharge air temperature and allows downsizing of auxiliary equipment such as air dryers.

Outstanding Part-Load Efficiency – Inverter Models
Part-load operating efficiency is significantly improved thanks to the IPM motor and optimized rotor design. The inverter compressor supplies the required air flow with optimized power consumption.

Stable Pressure Control – Maximum Energy Savings
Inverter models maintain pipeline pressure at a low and stable level (within ±0.01 MPa), minimizing energy losses.
⚙️ In contrast, fixed-speed models repeatedly switch between load and unload modes, causing larger pressure fluctuations and energy waste.

Inverter models achieve up to 7% additional energy savings by eliminating excessive pressure fluctuations.
